About the Band

Irvine Memorial Pipe Band is based in Clabby, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, and is an active competition band in the RSPBA Northern Ireland Branch. Publicly available early history is limited, but the band is well established on the Northern Ireland circuit and has become strongly associated with the Clabby and Fivemiletown area.

After a break from competition, Irvine Memorial returned to the contest field in 2022. Under Pipe Major Neil Stronge and Drum Sergeant Nicky Armstrong, the band made rapid progress, building towards a standout 2024 season. That year, it won the All-Ireland Pipe Band Championship at Newbridge and the Ulster Championship at Cookstown.

The band’s major breakthrough came at the 2024 World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, where Irvine Memorial won the Grade 4A World Championship, its first world title. Today, the band continues to represent Fermanagh piping with serious upward momentum: back competing in 2022, world champions by 2024.
