About the Band

City of Inverness Pipe Band is a competitive pipe band based in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. It was newly formed by 2016 and made an immediate impact, winning both Grade 4 events at its first Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association North of Scotland Branch contest at Banchory.

Following early success, the band was quickly upgraded by the RSPBA, with reports noting promotion to Grade 3A and a second-place finish at the European Championships.

Led in recent years by Pipe Major Scott Taylor, City of Inverness has continued to compete across the grades, with appearances in Grade 3 and Grade 2 competition.

Today, the band represents the Highland capital in competition and public performance, helping keep Inverness strongly represented within Scotland’s modern pipe band scene.
