City of Angels Pipe Band is based in Los Angeles, California, and was founded in 2021. It was created as a pipe band organisation dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion, with a particular aim of making piping and drumming more accessible to young people and communities who may not traditionally have had easy access to the pipe band world.

The band’s founding Pipe Major is Trevor Takahashi, who previously led Pasadena Scottish Pipes & Drums to major success, including a Grade 3B World Championship win in 2018. City of Angels was built with a multi-tiered development vision, supporting musical growth, leadership and long-term player progression.

The band wears Wild Heather tartan and has quickly become active in performance and competition, appearing at events such as Costa Mesa Scottish Fest, Pleasanton Highland Games and Seaside Highland Games. Today, City of Angels represents a modern Los Angeles approach to pipe banding, combining competition, teaching and community inclusion.
