Williamwood Pipe Band is based in the south side of Glasgow and traces its origins to a former Boys’ Brigade pipe band, established in the mid-1940s. The band has remained active for more than 70 years, developing from a local youth organisation into a community and competition pipe band.

The band supports both experienced and learner pipers and drummers, with regular practices and performances at parades, gala days, concerts, weddings and community events. It has also competed within the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association structure, including at Grade 4A and Grade 3 level.

In recent years, Williamwood has continued to focus on recruitment, teaching and competition, while maintaining its South Glasgow community roots. The band remains an active part of Scotland’s pipe band scene, giving players opportunities to learn, perform and progress.
