Paisley & District R.B.L. Pipe Band is based at Paisley Comrades Club in Renfrewshire. The current band was re-founded in 2018 after a long period of absence, reviving the Royal British Legion pipe band name in the town. Since then it has grown steadily, combining community work, tuition and competition.

The band offers free tuition and instruments to local young people, helping bring new pipers and drummers into traditional Scottish music. That teaching role has made it more than just a contest band: it is also a local youth-development outfit, which is exactly the sort of thing that keeps the pipe band ecosystem from turning into a dusty cupboard full of old reeds.

Competitively, Paisley & District R.B.L. has become active on the RSPBA circuit, with appearances in Grade 4B, including the 2025 World Pipe Band Championships final. The band’s progress was recognised locally when it won the Arts and Culture category at the 2026 Renfrewshire Provost’s Community Awards.
