The Vale of Kawerau Pipe Band is a newly established Highland pipe band based in Kawerau, North Island, New Zealand. The band was formed in 2024 and is registered with the Royal New Zealand Pipe Bands’ Association, competing in Grade 4B.

Although still early in its history, Vale of Kawerau has already begun building a public and competition profile. Records show the band active in New Zealand contests, including performances at events such as the Turakina Highland Games, with Pipe Band Rankings listing several competition appearances and current active status.

The band also has a local community role, appearing in Kawerau event listings and promoting Scottish piping and drumming in the Bay of Plenty region. A local council agenda for 2026 lists a Central North Island Pipe Band Competition involving Vale of Kawerau Pipe Band at Prideaux Park, showing its growing place in the regional pipe band scene.

With its roots only recently planted, Vale of Kawerau is best described as a young New Zealand Grade 4B band with community ambition, competition intent, and enough fresh drone-power to make the North Island sit up straight.
