About the Band

Rob Roy Pipe Band and Highland Dancers is based in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The pipe band was established in 1953, with the Highland dancers added in 1962, creating one of the relatively rare organisations where band and dancers operate as a permanently integrated group.

The organisation has a long record of teaching piping, drumming and Highland dancing, while performing at parades, community events and competitions across Canada, the United States and Scotland. Its Scottish appearances have included performances at Holyroodhouse, Blair Atholl Castle, Princes Street Gardens and Stirling Castle.

Rob Roy has competed in several grades over the years, including Grade 5 and Grade 4, and has also taken part in the World Pipe Band Championships. Today, it remains a community-focused organisation, promoting Scottish music and dance through tuition, performance and competition.
