About the Band
Strathallan School Pipe Band is based at Strathallan School in Forgandenny, Perthshire. The band forms part of the school’s wider music programme, giving pupils opportunities to learn Highland piping and drumming, perform at school and public events, and compete in the Scottish schools and RSPBA pipe band scene.
In recent years, the band has built a strong competition profile. In 2024, Strathallan won the Grade Novice B class at the British Pipe Band Championships in Forres, and also placed second in Novice Juvenile B at the Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championships, where its development band made its first competition appearance.
The band has also performed beyond competition, including appearances with the Edinburgh Symphony Orchestra and at major public events. Today, Strathallan School Pipe Band continues to develop young pipers and drummers through tuition, performance and competition, representing Perthshire within Scotland’s school pipe band tradition.
