St. Benedict’s College Pipe Band is based at St. Benedict’s College in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, South Africa. The band was formed in 1987/88 and has become one of the country’s leading school pipe bands, regularly competing at the top level of South African schools piping and drumming.

The band has built a strong competition record, with the school noting that in 2019 it won the South African Pipe Band Competition for the sixth time. It also hosts the annual St. Benedict’s Pipe Band Gathering, one of the major events in the South African pipe band calendar.

Today, St. Benedict’s College Pipe Band continues to develop young pipers and drummers through school tuition, competition and performance. It remains an important part of the South African school pipe band scene and a prominent musical tradition within the College.
