Colchester City Pipe Band is a civilian pipe band based in Colchester, Essex. The band was formed in 2009 as Colchester and District Pipes and Drums, often shortened to CADPAD. It later refreshed its identity as Colchester Pipes and Drums, before adopting the name Colchester City Pipe Band after Colchester was granted city status.

The band represents Colchester at public events, parades, commemorations and engagements across the UK and abroad. Members have taken part in major tattoos and remembrance events, including the annual Operation Market Garden commemorations in Arnhem, Netherlands, and events at the Cenotaph in London.

Today, Colchester City Pipe Band continues as the city’s principal civilian pipe band, promoting Highland piping and drumming while carrying Colchester’s name into community, ceremonial and international performances.
