About the Band

West Lothian Schools Pipe Band is a youth pipe band programme made up of young pipers and drummers from schools across West Lothian. The band was formed in 2007, with the Novice Juvenile band following in 2010, giving school pupils a structured route into piping, drumming, performance and competition.

Over the years, the band has become one of Scotland’s successful schools pipe band organisations, winning a number of major trophies, including UK and European Championship titles. In 2025, West Lothian Schools won the Novice A title at the World Pipe Band Championships, adding to its Scottish Championship success that season.

Today, the band continues to develop young musicians through tuition, rehearsals and competition, representing West Lothian at local events, national contests and major championships.
