About the Band
Vale United Pipe Band is a Grade 3 competition pipe band based in the southern interior of British Columbia, Canada. It was formed in 2018, following the relocation of experienced Fraser Valley pipers Doug Bird and Eric Froese to the Okanagan area.
The band was created to compete at a high level while promoting piping and drumming across its local communities. Its name reflects a “Valley United” idea, bringing together players from different areas across Western Canada and beyond.
Vale United is a member of the Fraser Valley Pipe Band Society and continues the legacy of earlier British Columbia competition bands, including Chilliwack & District Pipe Band, Fraser Valley Youth Pipe Band and Abbotsford Police Pipe Band.
Today, Vale United remains an active competitive and community-focused band, supporting player development while representing British Columbia on the pipe band circuit.
