About the Band

Paris/Port Dover Pipe Band is a Canadian pipe band based in Ontario, representing the Brant and Norfolk County communities. It was established on 18 February 2000 by Pipe Major Gordon Black, beginning with a small group of ten pipers, one bass drummer and one snare drummer. Since then, it has grown into a large organisation with more than 100 members.

The band’s mission is to promote Scottish music and culture, provide instruction for young players, and act as local and international ambassadors for its communities. It operates as a not-for-profit community organisation and offers opportunities for pipers and drummers from beginner to advanced level.

Paris/Port Dover has developed both competition and performance sides, with Grade 4 and Grade 5 bands as well as a show band. It has represented Canada overseas, including visits to Normandy and Dieppe commemorations, and has placed at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow.

One of its more unusual claims to fame is performing with Paul McCartney several times, starting in 2010 and again in 2025.
