About the Band
Ballingeary Pipe Band is based in Ballingeary, County Cork, Ireland, in the Gaeltacht area of West Cork. The band is linked to the local piping tradition and is associated with Nelius Cronin, a noted Cork piper who helped found and train the band.
The band has remained active in community life, performing at parades, local events, St Patrick’s Day celebrations and cultural occasions across Cork and beyond. It has also represented its area internationally, including appearances at Celtic festival events in France.
In recent years, Ballingeary has continued to appear in South of Ireland pipe band activity, including contests such as Mallow, while maintaining its role as a community pipe band in West Cork. Today, it continues to support piping and drumming through performance, competition and local tradition.
