Lion City Pipe Band is based in Singapore and is part of the country’s modern Scottish piping and drumming scene. The band describes itself as Asia’s premier-sounding pipe band and promotes Highland bagpipe and drum music through performance, competition and teaching.

Singapore has a longer pipe band background linked to British military and colonial history, with earlier bands such as the RAF Seletar Maintenance Base Pipes and Drums active from 1948. Lion City Pipe Band continues that wider tradition in a contemporary Singaporean setting, performing at public events, cultural occasions and regional pipe band activities.

The band has also been associated with the Singapore and South East Asia pipe band scene, including championship events and public performances. Today, Lion City Pipe Band helps keep Scottish-style piping and drumming active in Singapore, representing the Lion City through music, competition and cultural exchange.
