About the Band
RCMP Regimental Pipes, Drums and Dancers of Alberta is based in Alberta, Canada, and represents the Royal Canadian Mounted Police through piping, drumming and Highland dancing. The band was founded in 1993, bringing together RCMP members, public servants and civilian volunteers, and is described as the first RCMP pipe band.
The group wears the distinctive RCMP scarlet tunic with the RCMP tartan kilt, combining pipe band tradition with one of Canada’s most recognisable uniforms. It performs at police ceremonies, memorials, parades, cultural events and official engagements across Alberta and beyond.
Over more than 30 years, the band has appeared for royalty, government representatives, major public events and international engagements. As Highland dancers became a regular part of the organisation, its title developed into RCMP Regimental Pipes, Drums and Dancers of Alberta. Today, it continues to promote RCMP tradition, Canadian heritage and Highland music through ceremonial service, performance and community involvement.
