Highland Owls of Alba Pipe Band is a German cooperation pipe band project involving players from The Essern Highlanders Pipe Band and partner groups. It was created to give pipers and drummers a pathway into higher-grade competition, particularly Grade 3, while also supporting beginner development in Grade 5.

The project focuses on regional training, musical development and building stronger long-term structures for participating clubs. This collaborative approach reflects a common feature of mainland European pipe banding, where bands often combine resources and players to compete at a fuller standard.

Highland Owls of Alba has competed at German and European contests, including the Peine International Pipe Band Championships, where it has appeared in Grade 3B. Recent competition footage also shows the band performing internationally in Scotland.

Today, Highland Owls of Alba represents a growing German pipe band scene, combining cooperation, player development and competition experience across multiple grades.
