About the Band

Dresden Pipes & Drums is based in Dresden, Saxony, Germany. The band performs traditional Scottish pipe band music using Highland bagpipes and drums, appearing in Scottish-style uniform at public and private events. Public information on the band’s founding date and early development is limited, but it is listed as an active pipe band rehearsing weekly in Dresden.

The band is part of Germany’s wider pipe band scene, which has grown steadily through local clubs, Highland games, tattoos and mainland European competitions. Dresden Pipes & Drums helps bring Scottish piping and drumming to audiences in eastern Germany through performances, cultural events and community activity.

Today, the band continues to promote Scottish music from its Dresden base, supporting the visibility of pipe band culture in Saxony and the wider German piping community.
