About the Band
Crest of Gordon Pipe Band is based in Bremen, Germany, and is part of the developing mainland European pipe band scene. The band was formed by Welsh-born musician Victor Besch after he moved to Germany, and it has built a reputation as an award-winning competition and performance band.
Since 2017, Crest of Gordon has also been involved in organising one of Europe’s larger solo piping and quintet competitions, helping support piping and drumming beyond its own membership.
The band competes internationally and has been listed in Grade 3B, with Bremen recorded as its home base. It has appeared in competition activity in Germany and further afield, including Scotland.
Today, Crest of Gordon Pipe Band continues to promote Scottish piping and drumming in Germany through competition, teaching, performance and wider support for the European pipe band community.
