Alba Pipe Band is based in Hildesheim, Lower Saxony, Germany. The band was founded in 1998 by a small group of musicians with an interest in Scottish pipe band music and culture. Since then, it has grown into a larger community organisation with pipers, drummers, dancers, supporters and families involved.

In April 2010, the group became a formally registered association, Alba Pipe Band e.V. The band’s purpose is to promote Scottish music, Scottish dance and the wider culture of pipe bands in Germany.

Today, Alba Pipe Band performs at public and private events, supports Scottish cultural activity in the Hildesheim area, and continues to develop players through regular practices and band performances.
