About the Band

Heidelberg & District Pipes and Drums is based in Heidelberg, Germany. The band was founded in 2000 and has developed into an active Scottish-style pipe band performing across the Heidelberg area and wider region. It is currently led by Pipe Major Niklas McPhee.

The band promotes Highland piping and drumming through public performances, concerts, cultural events and competition. It has appeared at mainland European pipe band contests, including Peine, where it has achieved strong placings in the lower grades.

Today, Heidelberg & District Pipes and Drums continues to support Scottish music in Germany through regular practice, performance and competition, helping build the pipe band tradition within mainland Europe.
