Forres & District Pipe Band is based in Forres, Moray, and was formed in the 1920s by players who had served in the regular or territorial battalions of the Seaforth Highlanders, the local Highland regiment. The band has continued that Seaforth connection through its use of the Mackenzie tartan and Seaforth crest.

For many decades, the band has been part of community life in Moray, performing at local events, Highland games, parades and civic occasions. It has also appeared regularly at major events held in the area, including the European Pipe Band Championships when they were staged in Forres, and the Highland Military Tattoo at Fort George.

In 2025, the band marked its centenary, reflecting a history of around 100 years of local service, performance and pipe band tradition. Today, Forres & District continues to represent the town and wider Moray area through piping, drumming and community involvement.
