About the Band

Siren City Pipe Band is a relatively new competitive pipe band based in Norfolk, Virginia, serving the wider Hampton Roads area. The organisation was established as a non-profit in 2021, with a mission to build a Scottish music education programme for young pipers and drummers while also developing competitive pipe bands.

The main Siren City Pipe Band competes in the United States and is listed as wearing Ancient Duncan tartan. The group also includes a Grade 5 development band, City of Norfolk Pipe Band, giving learners a pathway from tuition into competition.

Despite its short history, Siren City has moved quickly. It achieved Grade 4 status in 2022, placed third in Grade 3 at the 2023 Virginia International Tattoo American Pipe Band Championship, and was listed by the RSPBA as a new Grade 4A registration in 2024.
