About the Band

Omaha Pipes & Drums is based in Omaha, Nebraska, USA, and has been active since 1970. The band performs traditional Scottish and Irish music and operates as a registered non-profit teaching organisation, offering free Highland bagpipe and drumming lessons.

The band wears Cameron of Erracht tartan in honour of its founder, Tony Smith, who was a Cameron Cadet. It performs at service, military, civic, police, fire and private functions, while also supporting members and students through scholarships for piping and drumming schools and workshops.

Omaha Pipes & Drums is a member of the Midwest Pipe Band Association and has competed in Grade 4. In 2004, the band travelled to Scotland, competing at North Berwick, Bridge of Allan and the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow. Today, it continues to promote piping and drumming across Nebraska through teaching, performance and competition.
