About the Band
James Enright Sr. Memorial Pipe Band is the Grade 5 development band within the Chicago Celtic Pipe Band organisation, based in the Chicago area of Illinois, USA. It was formed to honour Jim Enright Sr., who founded Chicago Celtic Pipe Band in 1997 with family members and close friends after many years playing in local bands.
The memorial band gives newer and developing pipers and drummers a structured route into competition, while the wider Chicago Celtic organisation also fields higher-grade groups. The Jim Enright Sr. Memorial group has competed in the Midwest Pipe Band Association circuit, including appearances at the Chicago Highland Games.
Today, James Enright Sr. Memorial Pipe Band continues Jim Enright Sr.’s legacy by helping develop players within the Chicago pipe band scene, supporting tuition, competition experience and progression into the senior Chicago Celtic Pipe Band.
