About the Band

London Fire Fighters Pipe Band is based in London, Ontario, Canada, and traces its history back to 1921, when it began as the St. Thomas Legion Branch 41 Pipe Band. This makes it one of Ontario’s oldest pipe bands, with a long record of competition and public performance.

The band went through several identities over the decades, including Aylmer Legion Pipe Band, Chrysler Highlanders, St. Thomas Police Association Pipe Band, MacNish Distillery Pipe Band, ScotsAire and St. Thomas Police Pipe Band, before becoming London Fire Fighters Pipe Band in 2003.

Its history includes Grade 1 competition, tours to Scotland, Ontario championship success and recordings under the MacNish Distillery name. Today, the band operates as both a performance and competition organisation, with Grade 4 and Grade 5 bands, and supports the London School of Piping and Drumming.
