The Spirit of Ontario Pipe Band is a collaborative Grade 5 competition band formed through a partnership between St. Andrew’s Pipes and Drums and other Ontario players. The project brought together members from separate bands, with an additional player from Fergus Pipe Band, to compete as a combined group during the 2019 season.

The band was created to give developing pipers and drummers more opportunities to compete, learn and perform as part of a larger ensemble. In its first contest season, The Spirit of Ontario achieved several strong results, including wins and top-three placings at Ontario competitions.

Today, the name represents the value of cooperation within the Ontario pipe band scene, helping players gain competition experience while strengthening links between local bands and teaching programmes.
