Mid Island Competition Pipe Band is an active Canadian competition band based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. It competes under the British Columbia Pipers’ Association and is currently listed in Grade 4. Public historical detail is fairly thin, with no confirmed founding date or leadership history currently published, so this is one of those bands where the paper trail is more “breadcrumb path” than grand marble monument.

The band appears regularly in the modern BCPA contest circuit, including appearances at events such as the Victoria Highland Games and Campbell River Highland Gathering. In 2024 it was listed in the BCPA Grade 4 grand aggregate standings, and in 2025 it recorded first-place Grade 4 results at Campbell River in both MSR and Medley events.

Mid Island is best understood as a focused Vancouver Island contest band rather than a parade-and-hire outfit. Celtic Coast Music notes that the band plays for competition rather than outside engagements, which fits its name rather neatly: no frills, no tartan wallpaper, just turn up, tune up, and get judged.
