About the Band

Drumlough Pipe Band is based in Drumlough, near Hillsborough, County Down, Northern Ireland. The band was formed in 1950 in the townland of Drumlough, and its 60th anniversary was marked with a civic reception hosted by Lisburn Mayor Paul Porter in November 2010.

The band has long been part of the Northern Ireland pipe band scene and competes under the RSPBA structure. Recent public profiles list Drumlough as a Grade 3B band from Hillsborough, Co. Down.

In more recent years, Drumlough has been active around the Northern Ireland contest circuit, including wins in Grade 3A at the Mid-Ulster Pipe Band Championships in Cookstown and the Co. Fermanagh Pipe Band Championships in Enniskillen during the 2017 season, under Pipe Major Stephen Burrows.

So, in database terms: founded 1950. In pipe band terms: a proper Co. Down outfit with enough history behind it to make the trophies nervous.
